Technology in education

The task of the modern education is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts. For a long time we have been criticizing our educational system for lacking effective learning techniques.  Technology based education make a great revolution in education system.

In the beginning, there were no books. Students use to learn whatever their teachers use to teach in the class. Slowly books were invented and slowly the process moved and today we have technology in our doorstep. Technology provides a digital platform and nowadays, it has become an important part of our lives. Wherever we go, we see the use of technology. Education is one of the mainstream that use technology to teach and learn. education should not only based up to books one should get chance to explore knowledge and try something new, technology makes it possible. 

There are many ways of technology helps us in our education.

If you have a computer with internet connection you can study while at home or any other place. You can contact teacher via internet without visiting place physically. It helps in minimizing difficulties of travelling and related expenses and save time also. it gives facility for online education during Covid - 19 pandemic situation. schools were closed and education was only possible in online. Technology saves children from being uneducated and technology plays major role in Covid - 19 pandemic.

In addition to that it provides unlimited amount of educational facts and data from a variety of sources and we can get more knowledge about world. Apart from that it provides service to teachers to teaching. They can teach by using presentation to make lesson interesting and to organize lesson using computer. It really makes life easier than before.

It not only provides advantages but also gives disadvantages. 

Sometimes it can be dangerous because it may provide misinformation and the user become confused. In such situation internet become unreliable. 

Addiction has become a burning problem due to over use of technology. Specially young generation get addicted to social networks like face book, instagram, whatsapp etc. Because of that they waste their valuable time and ruin their education. Also, it can disconnect student from face to face relationship. Interacting with people online is different experience than interacting with people physically.

Because of that, 

Online education is not the best method but it is the only method we have at this moment. Technology cannot be only component of learning process. That is why teachers should use technology as a tool in education.

Use of technology in education will bring a drastic change in our education system. We cannot proceed in the competitive society without technology but as a human with advance mind we should know how to use it properly. Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare it for today.
