 Paddy Cultivation           Paddy cultivation is the main occupation of most of the people of our country. Paddy is grown by the people because it is their main food crop. The person who cultivates is called a farmer. The farmer plows the paddy field before the paddy seeds are sown.                         Transplanting is also done by the farmer to get a better harvest. Women also help the farmers in transplanting.               After two or three weeks the farmer spread some manure. This he does to allow the paddy plants to grow rapidly.                       In about 3 months paddy plants begin to bear seeds The farmer has to be careful during the period. Because various insects begin to destroy the growing paddy seeds. Therefore the farmer uses insecticides to destroy the insects.     ...

               My artistic career began in 2011. My first art subject was music. I can play the flute well. But I am more good a  dancing. So I continued to learn dance. I learned both Kandyan dance and low country dance well. I also mastered drumming. Of these, I prefer to play the drums.                           I was awarded the School's Best Dancer Award in 2012. I also participated in dance competitions from 2011 to 2019. There were five All Island victories and several provincial victories.   In the meanwhile, I participated in dance festivals such as Independence Day celebrations, Gammadu Shantilarma, other festivals, and processions.  There are many such memories in my art life.  Many of them are fond memories. I will always love those memories.                   ...

                   My school is Mahinda Rajapaksha College Homagama.   I was the school's first cadet. We are the first group of students in the school. As a new school, our school's first cadet group was established in 2013. I was the first cadet of the school. It makes me proud.           Accordingly, our team first camped in 2014. We camped at the Rantambe Cadet Training Camp. I was the sergeant on our team. We had a lot of activities to do there. Those activities are fun as well as very bittersweet. No matter how difficult it is, it is a lot of fun to face them as a team. Among those activities, shooting is one of my favorite activities.      That was the accident that had ever seen. I was walking on the main road towards the town with the idea of buying a T-Shirt for my brother's birthday. When I reached the junction in the town suddenly, I heard a big bang. Soon, I rushed towards the town and saw a CTB bus knock on a car at the junction. This is a big throng of passers-by helping the victims. The car had been damaged loke nothing and the driver and the commuters there were fatally injured. The bus had a technical failure in the brake system. There was a big commotion and all passengers in the car were in a pool of blood.      We helped the injured and delivered them to the nearby hospital where they could get initial treatments. While going thought that it was the worst accident had ever seen.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle                There are so many authors whom I like. But my favorite author is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He was the author who wrote the world-famous Sherlock Holmes detective series.                           Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on 22nd May 1859. He was born in England. He received his education at Stony - Hurst College. He joined Edinburgh University and passed out eminent detective. Through Dr. Bell, he achieved knowledge in the art of detection.                Very soon Doyle becomes an inventor of detective stories. His greatest invention was Sherlock Holmes, the master detective of all times. Doyle published his first novel in 1918. It was named "Study of Scarlet" His second novel "Mica clear" made him a master novelist. But Doyle never profession as a doctor.        ...

  Every living being, human or animal has the right to live in peace on this planet. No one, not even an animal wishes to live in fear of pain or death. Even an ant avoids any obstacles that block its path. Unfortunately, some selfish human seems to think that the right to live and enjoy life is only theirs. They believe that the Earth is theirs alone. People fail to realize that we need animals as much as animals need us. If one dies the other dies too. life is a balance between animals and humans. Besides, animals experience identical emotions just like human beings. We feel happiness, fear, pain, frustration, excitement, etc. and so do animals. Sadly, only a very few of us care for and respect the feelings of animals. Animals suffer helplessly and silently because of our evil ways. This Earth is not ours alone. It's the home of all living beings.

Hiking  is one of my hobbies. One day, I decided to climb Adam's Peak in the off-season. Because I have climbed the Adam's Peak five times. But, those were the ones that went to the season each time.so I decided to go on the off-season.                  I left home with my elder brother at 7 pm. We decided to climb the mountain via Hatton.  We reached Hatton around 12 midnight.  Then we got involved in religious activities and started climbing the mountain.   Our hope was to climb the mountain before sunrise.   Our first stop was the Sitha Gangula.  We stayed there and rested.  From there we resumed our journey and continued on to Indikatupana.  It was about 4:30 in the morning when we reached Indikatupana. From there we took a short break of 10 minutes and started our journey again. Since childhood, I have read many books, and one of my favorite books is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. The plot of the novel revolves around the protagonist Edmond Dantes. It is set in France and Italy in the mid-nineteenth century. The novel explores the themes of love, betrayal, friendship, and revenge. Dantes is to marry his fiancée, Mercedes. But he is falsely accused of treason by his friends Modego, Danglars, and Villefort and is sent to prison. Dantes makes friends with a prisoner named Faria who educates him, and also helps him to escape and find a fortune. After his escape, Dantes appears in the guise of the elusive Count of Monte. Cristo, and seeks revenge for his wrongful imprisonment. His pain and desire for revenge intensify when he finds out that Mercedes is married to Mondego. Due to caste, ethnic, sexuality, and due to political concerns, these have been aroused by challenging the prevailing systems within the society. The Kandy Perahara  My favorite art festival is Kandy Perahara. The Kandy Perahara is one of the most important and glorious festivals of Sri Lanka. The Kandy Perahera is sponsored by the Dalada Maligawa (The palace of the sacred tooth relic). This perahara had been conducted by the ancient Sinhalese kings. Since then this is being held once a year. This is also called Duruthu Perahera. This is a world-famous pageant and it is held in the month of August every year. People from all parts of the world come to see this historic festival. The first perahera is held only at the Maligawa premises. After that, it goes on for seven days. The last perahera is the most glorious one. It is on that day the casket containing the streets on the back of Raja. Raja the maligawa tusker is a world-famous elephant.  The Kandyan dancers from all parts of the country go dancing in the perahera. It's also my favorite dance form.
